A safety file is a record of information related to the implementation and management of safety and health systems and procedures for a company or a specific project. It serves as proof of compliance with the safety specifications set out by the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and protects the business owner or employer against liability.
In our experience, DIY safety files often prove inadequate, as the business owner is often not trained to identify potential hazards and shortcomings in the same manner as a professional safety auditor, and/or lacks the necessary understanding of the various regulations in place. When it comes to securing the safety of staff, customers, and business premises, it doesn’t pay to cut corners. Don’t wait until something goes wrong to call in the experts.
